VOLUME  2  –  ISSUE  1

The first issue was put out over the winter of 2000 and was 28 pages.  The front cover featured a tanker from my fire company at the time, the Shartlesville Community (Berks County). The tanker was originally built for Nissequogue, NY.  After nearly 75% completion they backed out of it because of receiving hydrants in their area. I was working at KME at the time as a sales engineer and knew that Shartlesville could use a true tanker.  KME repainted it to their unique red color, made some modifications and Shartlesville received a great unit for a great deal.  The 1999 Mack MR sports a 1000 gpm pump and 4100 gallon tank, the largest tanker in the county.
